Jeremy Clarkson's fury at Flintoff and McGuinness revealed: 'They have taken Top Gear'

made the revelation last November as he discussed his time with the BBC and his own show – . He claimed that new hosts – Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris – had "taken his baby" after they took on the reins in 2018. They came in to replace Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc. At the recent launch of The Grand Tour presents Seamen in November, Clarkson said: "I wish them all the very best but I don't watch it.

"It was my baby and then it got taken away and they've got it now.

"It's like if you've got a baby and it's put up for adoption you hope the baby's brought up very well."

However, Clarkson said he was loving The Grand Tour.

He said: "There is no question that people prefer the specials when we whizz off and go and do something incredible, compared to the studio side of it.

"The other problem we have is time. Doing 12 or 13 shows a year is phenomenally time-consuming and it was sort of wiping us out, so now we can just concentrate on the specials and make them even better than they were."

Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond have opened up about the dangers of filming their Amazon Prime show.

Clarkson revealed a terrifying moment he endured while filming the first series of the car show.

The revelation was made before the release of the first series in 2016, as Clarkson, May and Hammond spilled the beans from behind the scenes of their much anticipated series.

While trying to swim towards a jetty, May told the Times in 2016: "I thought I would drown. I couldn't get out of the slippery thing. I had completely run out of strength."

Halfway through filming, he also broke his arm.

May was so drunk during the second shoot for the new show that he slipped and fell over when he came out of a pub.

Everybody else "managed to get into their cars", Clarkson recalled, "but somehow James slipped".

May added: "If you've had a few, legend always has it that you can fall over as much as you like, fall off a wall and bounce. But it turns out not to be true. If you're s***faced and

fall over, you still break your arm."
